Shannon B. Jones Law Group, Inc. Obtains Dismissal
From Action Based on Injuries During an Open House
In January 2017, the Law Group obtained a dismissal of our clients from an action involving claims by a visitor to an open house who had fallen down the stairs in front of the home. The plaintiffs, a husband and wife, sued the seller, the listing real estate brokerage firm, the listing agent, and another agent who assisted in holding the open house. The Law Group filed a demurrer to the plaintiffs’ Complaint, which the Court sustained (i.e., granted). Upon our request, the plaintiffs agreed to dismiss the listing broker and agents from the action without those defendants having to pay any monetary settlement.
